Thank you to local farmers who took time out of their busy schedules to meet with me in Cruckton today (9 February 2024) so that I could hear first hand the key issues that are affecting the farming community at the current time.
I was pleased to hear that over 700 appointments have now been held at the established mobile health clinic which takes place at Shrewsbury Livestock Auction Centre each month and I will be liaising with local authority and health colleagues to see if this successful scheme can continue in the forthcoming year.
Farmers also raised concern over rural crime and the impact of the possible use of farmland to alleviate flooding and I undertook to raise these concerns with my parliamentary colleagues on their behalf.
