£18M Levelling Up Funding Secured for Redevelopment of Smithfield and Riverside

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Dehenna Davison MP, called me today (19 January 2023) with the fantastic news that Shropshire Council’s bid to secure funding from the Government’s Levelling Up scheme was successful. The Council has been awarded £18 million to redevelop the Smithfield and Riverside areas of Shrewsbury. These significant changes will bring about growth and prosperity to our much loved town. 

I am happy to have helped achieve this by consistently lobbying the Government.  I wholeheartedly congratulate the Council on their successful bid, and I now look forward to seeing the scheme progress over the coming months.
