Announced in the Autumn Budget of 2018, the Hospitals Transformation Programme, formerly known as Future Fit, received £312 million in funding to improve acute hospital services and care to benefit people in Shropshire and Mid-Wales. The Princess Royal Hospital site in Telford will specialise in planned care, and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital site at the Copthorne Site in Shrewsbury will specialise in emergency care. Together with other Shropshire MPs, I have helped secure the funding by persistently lobbying the Department of Health and Social Care.
The Hospital Transformation Plan is the best way to improve hospital services in the county, and the final stage in the administrative process are now nearing completion.
