Health officials confirmed today (29 January 2021) that 44,000 people in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin have now been vaccinated against Covid-19. Every person over 80 should now have received an invitation to be vaccinated, and our health authority has been given the go-ahead to start inviting the over 75's and those that are clinically vulnerable.
For people of Shrewsbury, the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital is currently carrying out vaccinations along with GP practices. By the end of next week it is anticipated that the Bowling Centre at Sundorne will start vaccination sessions. In the meantime, it may be that people will receive an invitation to attend vaccination sites in other areas. The advice is that if you receive an invitation to get vaccinated in another area and your circumstances are such that it would not be possible to travel further afield, you can wait to be contacted by your GP to receive the vaccine at a more local site.
