Flooding is expected - immediate action required
River levels have risen at the Welshbridge river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is expected today, 21/01/21. We expect flooding to affect Gravel Hill lane, Sydney Avenue, Frankwell car park and Victoria Avenue are flooded. Predicted peak at Welshbridge 4m to 4.5m on Friday afternoon. We expect river levels to remain high for the next few days. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and liaising with emergency services. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated by 4pm today, 21/01/21, or as the situation changes.
