I joined forces with colleague Philip Dunne MP for Ludlow, in the House of Commons during the Health and Social Care Oral Questions to ask the Health Minister to release the £312 Million they have secured for the modernisation of health care services in Shropshire.
I asked, ‘the minister has heard from my neighbour and honourable friend from Ludlow, how essential it is for the Future Fit project, the £312 million, that we have secured is now finally released. We are starting to see a real negative impact on A&E services because of the several years of delays. Please can you do everything possible to make sure this money is released, and construction can start.”
Edward Agar, the Minister for Health, responded that they now have the outline business case from the trust, which is currently under review, to ensure that both Shrewsbury and Telford hospitals receive the funding they need.
The Hospital Transformation Programme will see Royal Shrewsbury Hospital become the county’s main emergency care centre, with planned care at Princess Royal Hospital in Telford. Click on this link to view: Parliamentlive.tv - House of Commons
