Daniel visits pupils at Meole Brace School

Daniel visiting pupils from years 10 and 11 at Meole Brace School

At the start of the new School term Daniel visited pupils at Meole Brace School to tell them about his job as their MP and to talk about issues facing young people today.

He talked with them on a number of issues that ranged from how he became an MP and what his job entails, to discussing the importance of being involved in the democratic process.

The pupils then had time to tell Daniel about improvements that they would like to see around Shrewsbury which included things like an increase in the provision of activities for young people in the Constituency.

Daniel commented, "I thoroughly enjoy going to meet the pupils in our local schools and talking about the work I do to represent them, as well as hearing first hand the thoughts and views of the young people in my Constituency".

Daniel invited the pupils along with their teachers to go down to Westminster for a tour of the Houses of Parliament, after receiving his own tour of Meole Brace School given by the teachers.

Hewent on to say,"the teachers I met at Meole Brace were doing an outstanding job. They have a very good relationship with the pupils and were clearly committed to helping them receive an excellent education, for which I would like to commend them all."
