On Wednesday 4th Novmeber, several hundred members of the Equitable life Members Action Group, EMAG, gathered in Westminster in order to form a rally to protest against the treatment they’ve received from the Government.

Daniel Kawczynski MP created and now chairs the Parliamentary group for Justice for Equitable life Policy holders, and will address a crowd of hundreds to inform them of the work that he and the group is doing in order to lobby the Government to compensate those who lost a substantial sum as a result of the near collapse of the company.

‘ A huge number of constituents were contacting me about with terrible accounts of the hardships they have suffered as a result of the insurance companies collapse. I set up Equitable Life policyholders primarily because of my belief in the parliamentary ombudsman system. We must protect the ombudsman's findings, and she has stated unequivocally that there has been regulatory failure.’

EMAG estimate that 15 former policy holders die every day waiting for the government to act. Daniel commented ‘it is unacceptable that the lives of so many former policy holders are sadly ending whilst they await any sort of justice from the Government; I am doing all I can to change that.’
