As I write I am currently preparing for my Prime Ministers question on Wednesday afternoon, where I will be asking Theresa May a question regarding the reconfiguration of A+E services in Shropshire. After two and a half years, £2 million spent, 300 local GP’s, Surgeons and clinicians involved in the process, they’re finally very close to making a decision.
However, certain people now want to prevent this decision from being made, but we must listen to local medical experts and clinicians, let's not forget these are the individuals who are at the coalface every day, providing services to constituents. This has the potential to be an investment of £300 million into the NHS in Shropshire, and I will be asking the Prime Minister to give guarantees to me on Wednesday supporting the decision of the local CCG, Doctors and Clinicians, making sure that the appropriate level of funding is afforded to our CCG’s.
I have also secured a meeting on Wednesday evening with Jeremy Hunt MP the Secretary of State for Health and we will no doubt have frank but hopefully constructive discussions about the importance of getting health care provision right not just for Shrewsbury but the whole of Shropshire and Mid Wales.
I continue to work on behalf of constituents, if you feel that I can be of any assistance, please don’t hesitate to email me at mail@daniel4shrewsbury.co.uk.
