Shropshire MPs Philip Dunne, Daniel Kawczynski and Mark Pritchard yesterday met Broadband Minister Ed Vaizey MP and officials from Broadband UK, to press the case for Shropshire to be prioritised in roll-out of superfast broadband to the county with improved access to broadband for all.

The Member of Parliament for Shrewsbury has added his support to an application for funding being made by The Ditherington Flax Mill Maltings to the Heritage Lottery Fund, as well as seeking support from His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales.

In response to the announcement that DVLA office in Shrewsbury is earmarked for closure, the Town’s MP has written to the Secretary of State for Transport to highlight serious concerns surrounding the decision.

Health bosses should have done more to try to secure funding to improve the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital instead of pushing ahead with plans to downgrade its services, the town’s MP Daniel Kawczynski claimed today.

This will enable the AHVLA to continue to deliver important scientific services to government and the livestock industry in a more cost effective and efficient way.

Last week in Parliament saw MPs debate a motion recognising that high fuel prices are causing immense difficulties for small and medium-sized enterprises, that some low-paid workers are paying a tenth of their income just to fill up the family car and that high fuel prices are particularly damaging for the road freight industry.
